Houston Gift a Garden

Dayna’s iCare Foundation members and youth volunteers travel nationally to provide families with underprivileged children, mostly in lower income communities, with all the supplies they need to plant and sustain a garden.

Gift a Gardens include: a rake, shovel, trowel, hoe, gardening shears, gardening gloves, watering pail, vegetable seeds, gardening resource materials and a surprise for the children.  We also provide words of encouragement and hugs.

We strongly believe in providing families with a “Gift a Garden” because planting a garden promotes healthy eating, provides nutritious food at no cost, encourages family bonding through a project everyone can participate in, and it teaches basic principles of life science.

Currently, we are looking to provide 20-25 foster families Houston, Texas with a Gift a Garden (2021-2022), God willing and if it safe to do so amidst the Coronavirus pandemic.

How can you get involved?  You can make a financial contribution of any size toward this project, sponsor a youth to travel to Texas, or donate:

  • gardening supplies
  • gardening resource materials and/or resource manuals
  • vegetable seeds
