“Garden of Grace” Community Garden, in West Chester, PA

We are currently in the process of building the “Garden of Grace”, a community garden on Poplar Street in West Chester, PA.  Our goal is to grow nutritious food and to distribute that food to local families in need.

Habitat for Humanity so graciously gifted us the lot to build the garden.  Dayna’s iCare Foundation, together with the family of Marilyn Grace Fitzgerald, will construct the garden which will include: cutting and trimming trees, leveling the ground, building the fenced garden with garden beds, creating a cement a path in the garden, installing 1 wooden fence alongside the perimeter, putting in a water filtration system, purchasing a small shed, tools and seedlings.  Additionally, we are creating a brick pathway on the outside of the garden. The total cost to complete the project, from start to finish, we estimate to be around $15,000.  Our goal is to be ready to plant by Spring of 2023.

To help with the cost of the construction, we are are also holding a “Buy a Brick” fundraiser until mid January.

We are are asking our friends and neighbors to show their support by purchasing a brick, and we will engrave it with their business name, logo, or whatever they would like on it.  The brick will be used to create a pathway on the property.   Each of these bricks will represent the pathway to change in our community, and will be enjoyed by many for years to come.
