Malawi

Dayna’s iCare Foundation (DIF) supports a number of children in Malawi, Africa through Full Gospel Assemblies’, Project Ten-16 program.

In April 2020, it was laid on the hearts of the DIF board members, to embark on a project in Malawi, Africa, where we would fund the building of homes for a few single parents with children, that we support year round through the Ten-16 program.  After careful consideration and prayer, the board decided it would be more efficient to build a church, in an effort to assist a community of children, instead of just a few.  About the same time, DIF was provided with a financial gift to build a school in Malawi as well, in honor of the late Dr. Webster Fitzgerald, an educator and supporter of Dayna’s iCare Foundation.

Early May 2020, the DIF Board met with Pastors Simeon and Marissa Strausser, of Full Gospel Assemblies to discuss the potential church and school project DIF wanted to build in Malawi.  As DIF discussed the vision of the 2 projects, Pastors Simeon and Marrisa Strausser were blown away by what they were hearing.  Unbeknownst to DIF, Bishop T. J. Mapira of Full Gospel Assemblies in Malawi, had written a letter requesting funding to rebuild a church in Matindi, Malawi, that totally collapsed, so they could hold worship services once again in the area, and so they could also utilize the structure as the study center for Phrear School of Theology, Matindi Campus.  When Pastor Simeon forwarded the letter from the Bishop Mapira to the DIF Board Members in the meeting, the DIF Board knew that the Lord was confirming their desire to build both a church and a school in honor of Dr. Fitzgerald.  And they further knew God was answering the prayers of Bishop Mapira and those in great need of a house of worship and study center in the Matindi community.

In May of 2020, Dayna’s iCare Foundation teamed with Full Gospel Assemblies and the work began, at which time DIF also decided to provide funding for the parish home as well, to complete the Matindi building project.   Early June, DIF learned that Ms. Flora Chathyoka was appointed Pastor of the Matindi church, and by the End of the July it was reported that the Malawi project (church/school and parish home) was almost complete.

But our work is not yet finished.  It is our desire to complete the DIF Malawi project by visiting the church/school in Matindi, Malawi, together with Full Gospel Assemblies, in August 2021.  At that time, God-willing, DIF plans to bless the children with a number of things, including Pillowcase Dresses Inspired by Mariah!
Friends, it is not too late to partner with us on this project.  There are still a number of items needed to complete the interior of the church/school site and home, and we are still accepting new pillowcases for dresses, new colored t-shirts, and donations to assist with the mission when we travel.  Please assist us with this great work.  Together we can have a REAL positive impact on the community of Matindi, both spiritually and economically.  Together we can make a difference!
